Pavron Winter Appeal

The Fundraiser

Winter conditions can be harsh, particularly for people experiencing homelessness, sleeping rough, travelling, or facing unexpected hardship. The Pavron Winter Appeal has been established to provide practical emergency relief items that help protect people from cold, wind, and wet weather.

Simple items such as thermal blankets, thermal ponchos, waterproof shoe covers, and emergency sleeping bags can provide immediate warmth and comfort when it is needed most. While these products are not a substitute for long-term support or accommodation, they can help reduce exposure to the elements and provide a measure of dignity and protection during difficult circumstances.

Every contribution helps us place more emergency relief items into the hands of those who need them. Whether through a donation, a purchase, or simply sharing this appeal, your support helps extend the reach of this initiative across communities facing cold-weather hardship.

Impact Goal

This funding target, $1,800 = 360 Emergency Thermal Blankets, would allow for thermal blankets to be distributed at key Victorian transport locations, including:

Five of the major train stations in Melbourne that play important roles in Victoria's rail network:

1. Flinders Street Station

Melbourne's most iconic railway station.

Located opposite Federation Square in the CBD.

Major hub for metropolitan train services.

2. Southern Cross Station

Main hub for regional and interstate rail services.

Connects metropolitan trains, coaches, and airport bus services.

Features the distinctive wave-shaped roof.

3. Melbourne Central Railway Station

Located beneath Melbourne Central Shopping Centre.

Important underground station on the City Loop.

4. Parliament Railway Station

Deep underground station serving the eastern side of the CBD.

Part of the City Loop network.

5. Richmond Railway Station

One of Melbourne's busiest interchange stations.

Serves multiple train lines and provides access to sporting venues including Melbourne Cricket Ground and Rod Laver Arena.

These stations are among the busiest and most strategically important in Melbourne's metropolitan and regional rail network.

Help provide warmth, practical support, and emergency relief where it is needed most.

Great Southern Land

You Walk Alone With The Ghost Of Time

More Info

Icehouse's "Great Southern Land" is one of Australia's most iconic songs. Written by Iva Davies and released in 1982, it was the lead single from the album Primitive Man. The song reached No. 5 on the Australian charts and has become closely associated with Australia's identity and landscape.

The lyrics reflect Australia's vast geography, isolation, ancient history, and the enduring connection of Indigenous peoples to the land. Rather than being simply patriotic, the song explores themes of belonging, history, and the unique character of the Australian continent.
